Right #1- Article 4
No one should be held in slavery or servitude. This right is being abused in the DRC because the M23 enslaves citizens to mine for gold, coltan, and other minerals.
Right #2- Article 19
Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression. This right is being abused in the DRC because people were attacked during the presidential elections based on their political views.
Right #3- Article 5
No one should be subject to torture or cruel inhuman treatment or punishment. This is being abused in the DRC because women all over are being forced to rape by the M23, children are forced to join there army, and Congo citizens are tortured by the M23 constantly.
